What happens
Britt Reid, publisher and crime-fighter the Green Hornet, with his valet Kato, looks into a murder linked to a contested speedway measure before the city council. Councilman Gurney, who backs the highway, is caught up with Jack Millroy and Tom Brown, partners in a realty company that holds options on the land. Suspicious of Gurney's sudden reversal and his hiring of a lawyer, Reid turns to the criminal lawyer Philip Newton. The Green Hornet pays a visit to Newton to press him toward a particular outcome in the case, and later calls on Gurney. The episode from the 1945 Green Hornet series, first aired July 19, 1945, follows these moves toward the council vote.
A city, its council chambers and City Hall, a roadhouse on River Road, and the homes and offices of Reid, Gurney and Newton.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
