What happens

The Green Hornet, publisher Britt Reid and his valet Kato investigate after Dayton, an importer of commercial diamonds, phones the Sentinel claiming he saw the Green Hornet landing smuggled stones at his dock. Reid suspects Dayton is hiding something and sets out to test his story. Dayton is later found dead in his office, and the Sentinel's reporters rush to cover the murder. Reid and Kato work through the case, and the story follows the pursuit of the man posing as the Hornet.

A waterfront city in the 1940s, including a dock on Water Street, Dayton's office, the Sentinel newspaper, police headquarters and a shabby apartment.

Characters: Britt Reid, Kato, Dayton, Axford, Sergeant Burke, Cassidy, Craddock, Spike

Listen for: Dayton's claim about seeing the Green Hornet at his dock, and the discovery of his body.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
