What happens

Brick Reid, publisher of the Daily Sentinel, learns that his secretary Lenore Case has been struck by a car and taken to hospital. The driver, Paul Galva, has visited her, and the next day he invites her to dinner. Galva and his companion Alexis are foreign agents with a plan for sabotage, and they hope Lenore can help them recover a book from a North Street shop. Gradually the pair grow suspicious of the people around them. The Green Hornet, meanwhile, becomes involved in the case.

Present-day city, the offices of the Daily Sentinel, the city hospital, a North Street bookshop, and an apartment hideout.

Characters: Brick Reed, Lenore Case, Michael Axford, Paul Galva, Alexis, Kato, Mr. Lucas, Sergeant Cassidy

Listen for: Listen for how Lenore comes to suspect Paul, and for the way the Green Hornet and Kato close in on the book shop.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
