What happens
Britt Reid, a young newspaper publisher, works against the racketeers who run the Big Four gang, a criminal organization led by a shadowy figure called Mr. Big. Ferris, a neighborhood drugstore owner, is threatened by the gang and refuses to join its association. Reid's paper, the Daily Sentinel, sends its staff to Ferris after a tip, and Ferris soon finds himself in danger. The Green Hornet, Reid's masked alter ego, drives the black beauty against the gang's men as the trouble around Ferris and his family grows. The episode is part of The Green Hornet series, first broadcast on August 28, 1940.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
