Britt Reid, the young publisher of the Daily Sentinel, pursues a black market liquor racket that has bombed a store and killed a tailor who witnessed the getaway car. Reid and his valet Kato suspect the dealer Johnson, a civic leader who represents the independent liquor dealers, may be involved. Reid and Kato watch the dealers closely and set a trap, drawing the racketeers out as the Green Hornet. The episode is part of the Green Hornet radio series and aired on January 1, 1944.

Characters: Britt Reid, Kato, Johnson, Sergeant Burke, Axford, Cassidy, Dave, Shorty

Listen for: The police call over the shortwave radio that draws the racketeers out, and the moment Shorty and Dave turn on their boss in the warehouse.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
