What happens

Britt Reid, a young newspaper publisher, takes up the case of Patsy Kelly, a cab driver charged with a hit-and-run death. Patsy insists he is innocent and says his cab was stolen the night before. Reid, with his valet Kato, examines the cab and the evidence, and he sets out to show that the crime was staged to look like a simple accident. The story is set in a city where a numbers racket operates, and its leading figures include Reid's assistant Casey and the gangster Tobin. The Green Hornet is a radio adventure series, and this episode was first broadcast on August 29, 1939.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
