What happens
The Green Hornet investigates a protection racket run by racketeer George Slagel, who forces every gas station in the city to pay him a cut of each gallon sold. Slagel's men bomb a station whose owner refuses to pay, and the Daily Sentinel newspaper pushes the district attorney to find a witness willing to testify. Reporters Casey and Lolly approach gas station operators one by one, but each is too frightened to speak. The Green Hornet, meanwhile, works to undermine Slagel's operation from within, staging a scheme that turns Slagel's own men against one another.
A city in the late 1930s, centered on its gas stations, the offices of the Daily Sentinel, and Slagel's headquarters.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
