What happens

Britt Reid, the Green Hornet, follows a lead to a house where small-time crook Nicky Leghetto is hiding, but Leghetto is shot dead in the dark just as a bomb goes off in the basement. Reporter Lowell Lowrie and Gail Manning, a reporter from the Daily Sentinel, look into the killing while the police struggle to make sense of the bombing. Britt and his valet Kato piece together what Leghetto said before he died and go after a suspicious woman who left the house before the police arrived. The Green Hornet series, original air date September 26, 1942.

A dimly lit city during wartime blackouts, with a shabby basement house, a newspaper office, police headquarters, and a reservoir with a dam.

Characters: Britt Reid, Kato, Lowell Lowrie, Gail Manning, Nicky Leghetto, Sergeant Hartness, Vogo, Schackman

Listen for: Leghetto's last words to the police and what they reveal about the bomb and the dam.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
