What happens

Publisher Britt Reid, aided by his valet Kato, looks into the death of pilot Jack Mercer, who has been found shot in his home with a suicide note beside him. Mercer had been compiling aerial photographs that mark possible landing sites for bombers, and the notice he placed in the newspaper seems to be a warning. Reid suspects a man named Kinder, who may be connected to a shady past. The Green Hornet, Reid's masked identity, becomes involved as the photographs and the men seeking them are drawn into a dangerous chase. The episode is part of The Green Hornet radio series, first broadcast on May 16, 1942.

A city in the United States during the Second World War, including Reid's apartment, Jack Mercer's suburban home, and the offices of the Sentinel newspaper.

Listen for: The phone call that starts Reid's investigation and the mysterious newspaper advertisement that Mercer asked him to decode.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
