What happens

Britt Reid, a young publisher who secretly fights crime as the Green Hornet, is called to the home of his friend Jack Mercer, a flyer. Mercer had been compiling marked aerial photographs of enemy country showing where bombers could land during an invasion, and he has now been found shot dead in what appears to be a suicide. Reid and his assistant Kato arrive at the scene and find an envelope of plans missing and a Green Hornet emblem left behind. Reid resolves to recover the photographs before enemy agents can use them. The Green Hornet series aired on May 19, 1942.

Early 1940s American city, including Jack Mercer's suburban home and Reid's newspaper office.

Characters: Britt Reid, Kato, Jack Mercer, Jackson, Gail, Michael Axford

Listen for: Reid's call to Mercer's home and the discovery of his body, the missing envelope of photographs, and Reid's suspicion that the ad and the name Kinder point to an enemy plot.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
