What happens
Jerry Franklin, a former convict known as Gentleman Jerry, plots revenge against stockbroker Daniel Lewis and the Green Hornet. With his henchmen Spike and Gabby, he kidnaps Lewis's daughter Carol and demands a ransom, with the Green Hornet blamed for the crime. Publisher Britt Reid, the Hornet's alter ego, and his valet Cato set out to investigate. This episode of The Green Hornet, first broadcast on August 1, 1944, follows the scheme as the criminals prepare their trap at a tenant house on the West Highway.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
