What happens

Britt Reid, young publisher of the Daily Sentinel, looks into the death of dentist Dr. Kane, who was burned to death in his laboratory after a fire broke out in his office. Dr. Kane's last patient, a man named Lynn, has vanished, and the police suspect foul play. Reid and his valet Kato examine the dental charts and X-rays, which seem to show that Lynn and Kane had matching records. Reporter Ed Lowry works the case alongside Sergeant Burke. This is an episode of The Green Hornet, a radio adventure series, first broadcast on August 8, 1944.

Present-day city of the 1940s, including Dr. Kane's dental office in the city building, the Daily Sentinel newspaper offices, police headquarters, and Reid's apartment

Characters: Britt Reid, Kato, Ed Lowry, Elaine Garland, Dr. Kane, Lynn, Sergeant Burke, Cassidy

Listen for: Listen for Lowry's observations about the matching dental charts and the X-ray showing an old jaw fracture, and for Reid's reasoning that the fire was not an accident.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
