What happens
Britt Reid, publisher of the Daily Sentinel, investigates a racket that swindles European immigrants like Colcek out of their savings, after reporter Ed Lowrie and photographer Mike Axford encounter Colcek during a chaotic night on a foggy bridge. Reid and his valet Kato follow a list of names found on a foreign consulate letterhead, leading him to the consulate secretary Pundar. This is an episode of The Green Hornet, an old-time radio series, first broadcast on January 6, 1948.
Foggy night on a city bridge, then the Daily Sentinel offices, a brownstone house, a small hotel, and Reid's apartment in a modern American city.
Characters: Britt Reid, Kato, Ed Lowrie, Mike Axford, Colcek, Pundar, Andrew Orloff, Mead
Listen for: Listen for the moment the masked Green Hornet confronts Pundar in his hotel room and forces him to name his accomplices.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
