What happens

Britt Reid, publisher of the Daily Central, is drawn into the apparent suicide of John Haverhill, a city council candidate found shot in his locked study. Haverhill had been chairman of a welfare drive, and the donations he collected are missing from the safe. Reid doubts the death was self-inflicted and begins to examine the room and the people around the case, with Kato at his side. The Green Hornet series is heard in this episode, which aired on August 31, 1946, with the actors credited for the series' regular roles. The episode is part of a radio drama in which Reid works the case as the Green Hornet.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
