Dan Reed, publisher of the Daily Sentinel, and his reporter Mike Axford discuss radio commentator Don Dunlow, who vows to expose the black market meat racket. Dunlow is soon murdered after receiving threats, and the Sentinel runs an editorial demanding the killers be caught. Reed then receives a warning letter of his own, and a mysterious visitor named Mr. Smith arrives at his office. Meanwhile, the gang leader's men plot against an unseen figure who has been feeding information to the press. The story is told in the Green Hornet series and was first broadcast on June 29, 1946.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
