What happens

Brit Reed, publisher of the Daily Sentinel, and his reporter Casey pursue a ring of accident racketeers who stage fake collisions with cars to collect settlements. Casey photographs one staged accident, but a man takes her camera and film. The lawyer Creepy and the traffic official Hopper are named as part of the operation. The Green Hornet also takes an interest in the racket, and Reed and Gunnegan follow the trail, as Casey is left shaken. The story continues with the search for Freeman, the man who faked the accident.

A city where a newspaper publisher's office, busy street corners, and a lawyer's office are the main places of the story.

Characters: Brit Reed, Casey, Gunnegan, Kato, Creepy, Hopper, Freeman, Carson

Listen for: The fake accident scheme, how the staged collisions are arranged, and what becomes of Casey's film.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
