What happens

Publisher Britt Reid and his editor Gunnegan at the Sentinel are offered a story by Carling, a corrupt city official who has grown ashamed of his own conduct. Carling's son has been arrested again after a nightclub disturbance, and their argument turns bitter, with the son accusing his father of living off the same rackets he protects. Carling then arranges to speak to the paper about the racket ring, but a gangster named Tilsen begins threatening them both. Reid, operating as the Green Hornet with his valet Cato, works to protect the family while the story takes shape. The episode is part of the Green Hornet series and was broadcast on May 22, 1940.

A city newspaper, the Sentinel, along with a nightclub, a roadhouse and the Carling family home.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
