What happens
Britt Reid, a daring young publisher who fights the underworld as the Green Hornet, takes on political boss Bill Crenshaw. Jim Donald, a young advertising employee at Reid's newspaper, loses his savings at a gambling house, the garden, that Crenshaw secretly owns, and in desperation fires shots at Crenshaw during a political rally. Reporters and Michael Oxford of the Sentinel gather around the case as Britt Reid and his assistant Kato plan to expose the gambling operation. Crenshaw, meanwhile, is terrified by a string of threatening letters and phone calls signed by the Green Hornet, and police guard his home. The Green Hornet prepares a way to force a raid on the garden.
A city in the late 1940s, including a political rally hall, a newspaper office, a gambling house called the garden, and Crenshaw's home.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
