What happens
The Great Gildersleeve finds an abandoned baby in his car, and the household adjusts to her arrival. Gildersleeve is delighted to photograph the infant, while his nephew Leroy feels overlooked and grows sulky. Gildersleeve's bungling at the camera shop adds to the comic bustle. Leroy's resentment builds until he sets up camp in a packing box in the yard. Harold Peary stars in this episode of The Great Gildersleeve, which aired on NBC on September 22, 1948, with Lillian Randolph and Lurene Tuttle also in the cast.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
