What happens
Judge Horace Hooker confides in Gildersleeve that he has fallen for Dolores Del Rey, a Spanish dance teacher, and asks for help winning her affection. Gildersleeve, mindful of the Spanish girl's strict upbringing, suggests a letter and then offers to arrange a meeting himself. Meanwhile, at the Jolly Boys Club, the members gossip about the judge's unusual behavior, speculating that he has taken up with a woman. Gildersleeve calls on Miss Del Rey at her apartment, where the two talk about the judge, and the evening turns to music and dancing. The Great Gildersleeve is a radio comedy, and this episode aired on NBC on November 12, 1944, starring Harold Peary, Willard Waterman, Lillian Randolph and Lurene Tuttle.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
