What happens
Summerfield's water commissioner, Gildersleeve, is drawn into a business venture by his old friend McGee, who claims to have an invention that will make them a million dollars. Gildersleeve eagerly tells his family and sets about drawing up a partnership contract with Judge Hooker, insisting on a larger share and planning an office. Meanwhile his niece Marjorie shops for dresses and his nephew Leroy hopes for a bicycle, while Gildersleeve's nervous hopes rise and fall with each development in the scheme. The story from this point is still unfolding.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
