What happens
Leroy Gildersleeve receives a real pony from his Aunt Hattie, and the water commissioner's household scrambles to find a place to keep it. Their neighbor Mr. Bullard objects strongly to the animal living on the street, and the commissioner must negotiate with him. Bullard softens after a tale about his own beloved polo pony, Maud, but the pony's mischief keeps the trouble going. The Great Gildersleeve, starring Harold Peary and Willard Waterman, aired on NBC on April 25, 1951.
Summerfield, a residential neighborhood where the Gildersleeve household and Mr. Bullard live across the street from each other.
Characters: Gildersleeve, Leroy, Mr. Bullard, Judge Hooker, Birdie, Jimmy, Peavey, Chief Gates
Listen for: Gildersleeve's diplomatic efforts with Mr. Bullard and Mr. Bullard's story about his polo pony Maud.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
