What happens
Leroy Forrester wants a motor for his bicycle, but his uncle, Gildersleeve, will not pay for it and tells him to earn the money himself. Leroy persuades his uncle to let him rent out the empty upstairs room, and he sets out to raise $20 for the motor. Willard Waterman plays Gildersleeve, with Harold Peary, Lillian Randolph and Lurene Tuttle in the lead cast. Leroy's scheme leads to a series of mix-ups with callers, and his uncle decides to test him in turn.
Summerfield, the small town where Gildersleeve lives with his household, including his nephew Leroy and his housekeeper Bertie.

Listen for: Leroy's attempts to raise $20 for a bicycle motor, and his uncle's unease when the room is rented out.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
