What happens

Leroy and Peggy Banks find an old family album in the attic with Gildersleeve and Bertie, then later are sold a box of cigars by a persuasive salesman who charges for everything but the cigars. The two boys try smoking one, with unpleasant results. The Great Gildersleeve series aired on NBC on November 23, 1941, with Harold Peary, Willard Waterman, Lillian Randolph and Lurene Tuttle in the lead roles. Leroy and Peggy spend the afternoon trying to smoke the cigars while the household is out, and the story follows the consequences as they fall ill.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
