What happens
Water Commissioner Gildersleeve takes in his friend Judge Hooker, who must leave his house while it is fumigated for pests. Gildersleeve, who is eager to impress nurse Catherine Milford, offers the judge a room in his home, though the judge proves to be a demanding houseguest with a strict health diet and an early morning rowing machine. Bertie struggles to meet the judge's needs while the household is disrupted. Gildersleeve's plan to see Catherine privately depends on the judge leaving. The Great Gildersleeve is a radio comedy series broadcast on NBC, and this episode aired on March 29, 1950, starring Harold Peary.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
