What happens

Gildersleeve's nephew Bronco, newly married to Margie and working in real estate, sells a property and takes part of his commission as a houseboat. Gildersleeve finds the arrangement amusing and then sees a chance for himself, planning to buy the houseboat from Bronco and eventually persuading the Jolly Boys Club to purchase it instead. Harold Peary stars in this 1950 episode of The Great Gildersleeve, which aired on NBC on June 7, 1950. Gildersleeve pursues his plans with Catherine Milford, but the outing on the boat does not go as he hoped.

Summerfield, a small town with a river; the parlor of the Gildersleeve house, Floyd's barbershop, and a riverside pier.

Listen for: Gildersleeve's pompous schemes to acquire the houseboat and the Jolly Boys' reactions to his pitch.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
