What happens
Gildersleeve is contentedly living with his nephew Leroy, his niece Marjorie, and her husband Bronco and their twins when he begins to suspect they only stay to keep him company. Gildersleeve broods over the possibility of his family moving out, and he decides to throw a party to show he has plenty of friends. His plans for the evening are complicated by his friends' many other engagements and by the sudden decisions of those closest to him.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
