What happens
Gildersleeve decides to join his nephew Leroy in his piano practice after Bronco and Birdie find a baby book suggesting parents become partners with children in difficult activities. Gildersleeve tells Leroy he will practice too, and soon the story turns to the County Fair opening in Summerfield. Gildersleeve has planned to take Katie Milford to the fair, but his own practice keeps getting in the way of his plans, and he has to decide between his promise to Leroy and the outing. The episode is from The Great Gildersleeve, first broadcast on NBC on September 27, 1950, and stars Harold Peary, Willard Waterman, Lillian Randolph and Lurene Tuttle.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
