What happens
Throughout a Summerfield episode of The Great Gildersleeve, first aired on NBC on October 4, 1950, starring Harold Peary, Gildersleeve is named chairman of the Community Chest drive and arranges a children's football game. He is proud when his nephew Leroy is chosen as quarterback, and the family celebrates at dinner. Leroy, however, becomes unsure about playing, and Gildersleeve struggles to understand why. Meanwhile the Jolly Boys prepare a surprise gift and plan to attend the game. The episode builds toward the afternoon of the game, with Leroy's decision still hanging over the household.
Summerfield, a small town, in the days leading up to a Community Chest football game

Listen for: Gildersleeve's reaction when Leroy suddenly says he will not play, and the Jolly Boys' rehearsal of their tribute
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
