What happens
Gildersleeve prepares for an evening out with Paula Winthrop, a widow back from Florida, while his nephew Leroy and Leroy's friend Babs watch his old-fashioned manners with growing impatience. Babs returns his lost elk's tooth and asks Leroy for help, and Gildersleeve finds himself gently mocked for his dancing, his speech and his watch chain. The Great Gildersleeve is a radio comedy series, and this installment is from its original broadcast on March 10, 1954 on NBC. Willard Waterman plays Gildersleeve, and the cast also includes Lillian Randolph and Lurene Tuttle. Gildersleeve begins to wonder whether he has fallen out of step with the younger generation.
Summerfield, a small town, in the Gildersleeve household and at local businesses such as Peavey's drugstore.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
