What happens

Marjorie is seeing a young man named Oscar Van Buren, an assistant riding master at the Oak Park Stables, and her uncle Gildersleeve objects to the romance. Her aunt Eve advises him to encourage the relationship rather than oppose it, and Gildy agrees to help it along. Marjorie asks him to teach her to ride so she can join Oscar on a horseback outing. Gildy's arrangements for riding clothes, a shop visit and a barbershop stop lead to a comic scramble. The series, starring Harold Peary, was first broadcast on NBC on January 14, 1948.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
