What happens

On a Saturday morning, Gildersleeve arrives early at his office, where a pile of old correspondence awaits him. He asks Bessie to fetch a water supply report from his home, but the report cannot be found, and Gildersleeve decides the household needs a thorough cleaning before winter. He calls the family together, lectures them on keeping a tidy home, and sends Leroy and himself up onto the roof to clear leaves from the gutters. Water pressure falls at the wrong moment, and the morning grows more difficult as neighbor Mr. Bullard objects to the burning of trash and a minor traffic mishap follows.

Characters: Gildersleeve, Bessie, Marjorie, Leroy, Birdie, Mr. Bullard, Peavey, Charlie Anderson

Listen for: Gildersleeve's attempts to clean the house and the water pressure problem on the roof.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
