What happens

Leroy Forrester and his uncle, Gildersleeve, the water commissioner, argue over whether the uncle has kept his promise to rent a lake cabin for a summer vacation. Gildersleeve tries to secure a cabin, first borrowing one from his friend Peavey and then pursuing a better offer through Floyd the barber, who knows Ed Hinkle at Eagle Lake. The episode is from The Great Gildersleeve, first broadcast on NBC on August 12, 1953, starring Harold Peary, Willard Waterman, Lillian Randolph and Lurene Tuttle. Gildersleeve keeps changing his mind about the cabins as he weighs each option against the others.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
