What happens
Harold Peary's Gildersleeve and his ward Leroy decide to spend their summer vacation camping in the backyard after Marjorie and Bertie leave for the mountains. Gildersleeve borrows a sleeping bag and a portable barbecue from neighbors, and the two set up their makeshift campsite. Their plans are complicated by a ringing telephone, a stray dog that makes off with their steak, and a sudden rainstorm. The episode comes from the NBC series The Great Gildersleeve, first broadcast on July 16, 1952, with Harold Peary and Willard Waterman in the lead roles.

Characters: Gildersleeve, Leroy, Marjorie, Bertie, Peavey, Judge Hooker
Listen for: Gildersleeve's comic attempts to get out of a zipper-stuck sleeping bag
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
