What happens

After a long evening of quiz games and tea, Marjorie and Leroy's friend Oliver Honeywell stays overnight at the Gildersleeve house, where Uncle Mort and his niece and nephew try to make the late hours pleasant for him. Oliver is given borrowed pajamas and a blanket, and he worries about drafts and burglars. A distant fire alarm then sends the household out into the night, and the group soon finds itself locked outside in their night clothes, forced to find a way back inside. The Great Gildersleeve is a comedy series, and this episode was first broadcast on NBC on October 26, 1941, starring Harold Peary, Willard Waterman, Lillian Randolph and Lurene Tuttle.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
