What happens
Fred Allen runs a comic detective agency, and his secretary Miss Clues handles the calls that come in. A string of odd cases follows: a lion missing from a circus, a stolen city herring, a radio orchestra whose trumpet player has vanished during a broadcast, and a claim of an invisible man. Each client arrives with a complaint and Allen questions them with his usual wisecracks. The series is Fred Allen, first heard on CBS and NBC, and this installment aired on April 11, 1934. Fred Allen, Portland Hoffa, Kenny Delmar and Minerva Pious are the lead actors.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
