What happens
Fred Allen's show, featuring guest Ed Gerber and Charlie McCarthy, presents a mock courtroom trial in which Charlie McCarthy sues Fred Allen. The episode is broadcast in 1945 as part of the Fred Allen series, with Fred Allen, Portland Hoffa, Kenny Delmar and Minerva Pious among the cast. Before the trial, Allen's alley residents, including Senator Claghorn, Titus Moody and Mrs. Nussbaum, offer comic opinions on women working in the post-war business world. The courtroom scene follows, with Charlie McCarthy accusing Allen of swindling him out of his share of the program. Witnesses are called, the proceedings grow chaotic, and Judge McEaster presides over the case with a series of absurd exchanges.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
