What happens

Fred Allen hosts a comedy hour on CBS and NBC in March 1946, with Portland Hoffa, Kenny Delmar and Minerva Pious among the regulars. The show opens with banter about radio poll results and a mock panel on whether radio, comics and movies harm children. Senator Claghorn, Mrs. Nussbaum and Mr. Moody give comic accounts of their own experiences. Later, Allen meets Carmen Miranda, who has come to promote the good neighbor policy, and the two go on a playful tour of New York. The transcript ends before the broadcast's conclusion.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
