What happens

Fibber McGee and Molly are looking forward to a pot roast dinner at home when the mayor, Latrivia, drops in unexpectedly and lingers, showing no sign of leaving. Fibber grows impatient while the aroma from the kitchen builds his appetite, and Molly tries to keep the peace with their guest. As the minutes pass, the dinner plans keep being interrupted by visitors and small mix-ups, and the couple's hunger becomes the running joke of the evening. This episode of Fibber McGee and Molly, broadcast on NBC Radio on June 9, 1942, stars Harold Peary and Bill Thompson, with Gale Gordon and Arthur Q. Bryan in supporting roles.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
