What happens

Fibber McGee and Molly take the Make a Pal of Your Wife Week theme to heart when Fibber invites Molly out to lunch instead of letting her wash the dishes at home. The couple's plans get complicated after they run into neighbors and friends, and they find themselves at Nick DePoppolis's restaurant, where the service is slow and the food is unremarkable. Fibber offers a sales pitch for Johnson's Wax along the way. This episode was broadcast on NBC Radio on March 12, 1940, in the long-running Fibber McGee and Molly series, starring Marian and Jim Jordan with Bill Thompson.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
