What happens

Fibber McGee and Molly struggle to find a Christmas tree in the days before the holiday, after leaving it too late to shop. Their search takes them to several lots, where prices are high and trees are scarce. Uncle Dennis, Alice Darling, Harlow Wilcox and Doc Gamble all cross their path during the hunt. The episode is from the Fibber McGee and Molly series, first broadcast on NBC Radio on December 21, 1943. Harold Peary, Bill Thompson, Gale Gordon and Arthur Q. Bryan lead the cast. The story is told through the couple's growing frustration as the tree shortage becomes a running joke about holiday spirit.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
