What happens
Fibber McGee and Molly is a radio comedy broadcast on NBC on December 14, 1943. During a blizzard, Fibber McGee opens a long-overdue letter from his old friend Fred and finds a package of trick handcuffs inside. He puts them on and cannot get them off. The instructions are missing, and his attempts to free himself draw in Molly, Mr. Wellington, a neighbor, a boy, and Dr. Gamble, each with their own ideas and comments. Fibber's efforts keep failing as the day goes on.
A house in Wistful Vista during a severe blizzard, with the temperature far below zero.
Characters: Fibber McGee, Molly, Mr. Wellington, Mr. Wilcox, Alice, Dr. Gamble, Junior
Listen for: Fibber's attempts to remove the trick handcuffs, and the string of visitors who try to help or comment on his predicament.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
