What happens
Fibber McGee and Molly prepare to leave their home at 79 West Wistful Vista for Hollywood, where they are to appear in a motion picture. Fibber's endless list of last-minute chores keeps Molly busy as he hurries through a series of visitors, including an insurance doctor who examines him, neighbor Mrs. Uppington, and Gildersleeve, who proposes that someone house-sit while they are away. Phone calls, a sweet-talking lawn mower dispute, and mounting time pressure fill the household. This is an episode of the NBC radio series Fibber McGee and Molly, first broadcast on June 24, 1941, starring Harold Peary, Bill Thompson, Gale Gordon and Arthur Q. Bryan.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
