What happens

Fibber McGee and Molly are excited to hear a radio program about Fibber's uncle Sycamore, a figure from the Wild West who fought Indians and is said to have known Kit Carson and Buffalo Bill. Fibber fusses over his temperamental radio set, which keeps cutting out whenever someone touches metal or the door bangs. Neighbors keep dropping by, interrupting the broadcast, while the McGees struggle to hear the drama of the uncle's exploits. The episode is a 1943 NBC broadcast of Fibber McGee and Molly, with Harold Peary, Bill Thompson, Gale Gordon and Arthur Q. Bryan among the cast, and this part of the story is mostly comic bickering over the set.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
