What happens
Fibber McGee and Molly react angrily when wartime gasoline rationing limits Fibber to four gallons a week, which he considers an outrage against his personal freedom. He grumbles to Molly, dismisses the seriousness of the rubber shortage, and argues with neighbors about the rules. Mayor LaTrivia stops by to say goodbye before leaving for the Coast Guard, and he challenges Fibber to stop complaining about a small sacrifice while the country is at war. Fibber's attitude begins to shift as the evening goes on. The episode is an NBC Radio broadcast from December 1, 1942, starring Harold Peary, Bill Thompson, Gale Gordon and Arthur Q. Bryan.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
