What happens

Fibber McGee and Molly find a gold watch lying in the gutter at Fourteenth and Oak Street and decide to advertise for its owner. Fibber takes charge of writing the classified ad, and the couple begins fielding callers who claim the watch. Their neighbor Mrs. Uppington and Uncle Dennis are among those dropping by, and the watch becomes the subject of a good deal of comic bickering. The episode aired on NBC Radio in the Fibber McGee and Molly series, on December 31, 1940, with Harold Peary, Bill Thompson, Gale Gordon and Arthur Q. Bryan in the cast. The watch and the search for its owner keep the household busy as the story unfolds.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
