What happens
Fibber McGee and Molly is a comedy series, and this episode, first broadcast on December 16, 1941 on NBC Radio, stars Harold Peary, Bill Thompson, Gale Gordon and Arthur Q. Bryan. Fibber returns home from the woods, proud of the Christmas tree he has cut down, though he has lost his hatchet, a wristwatch and a new tire along the way. Molly is delighted and sets about decorating the tree while Fibber claims the family's furnace trouble is nothing to worry about. Visitors drop in, including Mrs. Uppington and Mr. Wilcox, while the trimming of the tree goes on in the crowded living room. The early scenes are full of small disasters and friendly bickering between the couple.
The McGee home in Wistful Vista, in the days before Christmas, with a freshly cut tree in the living room.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
