What happens

Jim Anderson, the father of the Anderson family in Springfield, becomes fixated on a mystery after a newspaper gossip item about a young star leaving a Sunset Strip nightclub with a blonde starlet. His daughter Betty is upset by the column and is sure it refers to a famous actor, while Jim and Margaret gather in the evening trying to puzzle out the identity of the young man. Jim's wish to remember the name of a friend from Round Lake keeps him awake, and he pesters friends at odd hours, disrupting the household. The episode is part of the Father Knows Best radio series, first broadcast on February 8, 1951, starring Robert Young as Jim Anderson.

The Anderson home in Springfield, on an evening and into the early morning hours.

Characters: Jim Anderson, Margaret Anderson, Betty Anderson, Bud Anderson, Kathy Anderson

Listen for: Jim's repeated attempts to recall a forgotten name from Round Lake, and his late-night phone calls to friends trying to identify it.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
