What happens
Jim Anderson finds a flattened trash can lid on the curb and carries it home, convinced the city's collection crew has damaged it again. He phones the sanitation department and a city inspector, Mr. Otney, comes to the house to settle the complaint. Jim's embarrassment grows when he realizes the lid he brought inside is not his own. Meanwhile his children Bud and Betty are busy with their own problems, including Betty's history tutoring with Mr. Glover. Robert Young stars as Father in this 1954 episode of Father Knows Best, broadcast on NBC.
