What happens
Father Knows Best: Second Family Car is a 1953 episode in which Betty Anderson wants her own car to drive to school, arguing that her friends have cars and that she would otherwise have to walk or rely on others. Her mother, Margaret, is open to the idea, but father Jim is skeptical about the cost and upkeep of a used car. Betty and Margaret offer to take on the repairs themselves, and the family goes to look at an inexpensive green coupe the Williams are selling. Robert Young plays Jim Anderson in the series.
